OUR PRACTICE CYCLE
FOUR FORMATS. ONE INTEGRATED PRACTICE.
At THE FOURS, movement is taught through four distinct formats that together form a practice cycle.
Our work integrates classical mat Pilates and somatic movement into a rhythm designed to support the body and nervous system over time.
Rather than chasing intensity or novelty, we emphasize return—to structure, to sensation, and to coherence.
Like any living system, the body needs:
grounding before activation
flow before integration
repetition before change
Each format represents a different phase of this cycle. Each one is distinct, and each one is necessary. Practiced together, they create a sustainable rhythm the body can trust.
While every format can be experienced on its own, the work is most effective when practiced in relationship—week after week, season after season.
Some formats are more grounding, helping the body settle and stabilize. Others are more activating, building energy, expression, and emotional openness. Every class begins with grounding, regardless of format.
THE EQUILIBRIUM
THE EQUILIBRIUM
Classical Mat Pilates · Structure · Foundation
THE EQUILIBRIUM is a classical mat Pilates format focused on anatomical clarity, alignment, and foundational strength.
Classes are slower and more broken down, with clear explanation of movement patterns and targeted strengthening of muscles that are commonly underused or bypassed. This allows the body to organize efficiently and safely.
Nervous-system wise, THE EQUILIBRIUM is grounding.
THE EQUILIBRIUM supports:
Establishing stability and orientation
Learning how your body works
Strengthening weaker or under-recruited muscles
Structured support when you feel scattered, fatigued, or disconnected
THE CENTER
THE CENTER
Classical Mat Pilates · Strength · Flow
THE CENTER is also rooted in classical mat Pilates, but taught as a continuous, rhythmic flow—closer to a dance than a breakdown.
Exercises are linked together through breath, timing, and momentum. Strength is built dynamically through coordination, stamina, and sustained presence rather than isolated analysis.
Nervous-system wise, THE CENTER is activating, while remaining structured and contained.
THE CENTER supports:
Building strength through flow
Increasing energy and focus
Developing coordination and stamina
Days when you feel ready to engage more fully
THE RESET
THE RESET
Somatic · Restorative · Regulation
THE RESET is the most grounding and settling format we offer.
Classes are slower, more spacious, and often floor-based. This format allows the nervous system to downshift, release accumulated tension, and restore a sense of internal safety.
THE RESET is not passive—it is intentionally restorative.
THE RESET supports:
Deep grounding and nervous-system regulation
Releasing chronic stress or tension
Periods of emotional or physical recovery
Balancing more activating practices
THE FOURS
THE FOURS
Integrative Flow · Coherence · Presence
THE FOURS is an integrative movement format that weaves together physical, emotional, and energetic threads into one cohesive experience.
Instruction is lighter and more invitational, allowing sensation, rhythm, and awareness to organize organically. Integration often continues after class, as the body processes and settles over time.
Nervous-system wise, THE FOURS is activating and best suited for those who feel grounded enough to explore emotional openness and integration.
THE FOURS supports:
Increasing vitality and aliveness
Emotional openness and integration
Experiencing the practice as a whole
Practitioners ready to move beyond structure alone
PRACTICING IN BALANCE
CHOOSE WHAT YOU NEED ON ANY GIVEN DAY
Our formats form a cycle of grounding, activation, flow, and integration—a rhythm that the body learns to trust. Most students rotate between grounding and activating formats throughout the week.
THE EQUILIBRIUM and THE RESET support regulation and stability.
THE CENTER and THE FOURS support energy, strength, and integration.
There is no ideal place to be—only what your body needs on a given day.
This practice is not designed for one-off consumption. Change unfolds through repetition, rhythm, and return.
